Children's Class

When: 9:45 a.m., September through May
Where: Room 101 on the lower level

The children's class provides a fun, loving, and welcoming environment for children in grades 1 through 4 to enhance their faith formation. It strives to link Bible stories to real-life experiences and encourage questions and creativity.

The centerpiece of this class is the weekly Bible lesson, which is the same lesson used in Worship each Sunday. This consistency strengthens the children's interest in worship and provides a common basis for families to share.

A variety of age-appropriate activities designed to fit different learning styles combine to help the children understand the Bible lesson and relate it to their daily lives. Some of these activities include:

  • Storytelling and dramatization
  • Discussion
  • Singing
  • Crafts
  • Group Activities
  • Service Project

This class provides growing children the opportunity to begin establishing their own belief system, increase awareness of a larger world, reflect on justice issues, and engage in the world-wide ministry of the church.
