Supper Study ProgramsWinter/Spring 2008 Schedule
When: Wednesday evenings - Meal: 6:00 PM , Program: 6:30-7:30 PM January 30: The Role of Military Chaplains. John Gundlach, UCC minister for government chaplaincies and a former military chaplain, will offer us a glimpse of life as a military chaplain and update us on what is happening with those currently serving. Menu: Baked Fish, Mashed Potatoes, Salad February 6: Ash Wednesday. Our service of ashes, prayer and music will begin the Lenten season. Menu: Covered Dish February 13: All You Need Is Love. Bring your guitar (or other instrument), your favorite love poem, or artwork you created “from the heart” and join us for a valentine special. A romantic, candle-lit meal of lasagna, salad, rolls and chocolate dessert will be served. February 20: Faith & Pop Culture. A presentation by Dr. Lynn Neal from Wake Forest University. Menu: Chicken Pot Pie, Salad February 27: Sound Therapy. Our own Isa Dollyhigh will tell us about her work in sound therapy. Menu: Baked Fish, Mashed Potatoes, Salad March 5: Micro Loans. An increasingly popular way to have a huge impact in places of great need, using small amounts of money. Menu: Covered Dish March 12: Faith & Violence. A presentation by Daniel Malotky from Greensboro College. Menu: Lasagna, Salad, Rolls March 20: Maundy Thursday. Service of Tenebrae and communion in preparation for Easter Sunday. (No Wed. program.)
